I am a simulation researcher, a writer|director and an academic. I obtained my Doctoral Degree from UTS Sydney and am Lecturer and the Program Lead for the Master of Visualisation, Simulation and Immersive Design in the Faculty of Art & Design. I am interested in the different types of sense-making activated through live and mixed reality simulations and how they impact collectively on situation awareness. My interdisciplinary doctoral investigation into live simulation and digitally augmented environments focussed on information processing and narrative design in these contexts from a neuroscientific perspective.
My academic teaching and research endeavours are complimented by a long and distinguished career in the Australian Performing Arts as an Artistic Director. I have an extensive background as a writer, director and creative producer across a variety of live media practices – including performance, live art, media (radio and television drama), hybrid and interdisciplinary arts. Many of my productions have been presented nationally and internationally, and I am recognised nationally for my seminal work in cultural diversity in the Australian Arts.
