Steve is a full time academic in Media Arts at the University of New South Wales Australia, Faculty of Art and Design. He lectures in Animation at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and is a recipient of the Dean's Teaching Award for Sustained Teaching Excellence for 2008, and again in 2013.

Steve's research interests combine Learning and Teaching, Animation practice, Performance through the animated character, bringing animation thinking to Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) and Social Robotics. He is passionate about the communication power of animation and maintains industry links with Media production companies both in Australia and abroad.

Steve builds on his previous industry experience in Special Projects at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe in London along with many years of freelance and commercial work as 3D CGI artist. He holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts gained at Sydney College of the Arts and a Masters of 3D Computer Aided Graphical Technology Applications (CAGTA) gained at Teesside University in the UK.
